Crew: Bri,
KK, CC
Conditions:
2 FT+, perfect conditions but small and inconsistent.
I’m trying to recall events almost two
weekends ago, so here it goes. . . .
I usually try to at least surf local one
day out of the weekend. Bri and I don’t plan on dawn patrolling super early,
especially after yesterday, but we still get to 26th at a reasonable
time.
We score parking on Highland, thus avoiding
the parking meters. I’m not sure how the surf will be, so I grab both the JS
and the Zippy. As we head down and reach the sand, we can see that the surf is
small. Klaude is easy to spot.
I set the JS down, warm up, and grab the
Zippy. Even though Bri’s on the NSP and I’m on a meaty board myself, it’s still
a little hard to catch these small, mooshy waves. I manage to get some rides,
but not turns, all trimming.
The leash-string snaps on the Zippy after a
wave. I swap-out boards, but the surf is too small for the JS. I can’t remember
the last time I rode leashless, and I don’t do that bad, being that the surf is
tiny.
Bri gets some waves, but it’s not much. We
stay out for about an hour and a half.
